The firm of Tallis & Company flourished from 1835 to the 1860s, their Illustrated Atlases being one of the last decorative works published. All the maps were adorned with small vignette views depicting the cities, native fauna or people of the area. These were considered to be the last of the Great Illustrated Atlases. Some time after the 1860’s the Tallis maps were issued by The London Printing & Publishing Company. London & New York.
