A major upgrade is underway, continuing through March 2012.
The main goal is to improve navigation throughout the site.
Another expected outcome from the upgrade is to make the New Zealand Antique Prints and Rare Books web site conform to W3C Markup standards wherever possible. Conforming pages will display the W3C validation icon.
To learn more about validation and its importance use this LINK to the W3C web site.
New Section to be added
We will be adding an ephemera section including New Zealand Postcards.
Target date: — [Feb. 2012]February 2012.
Navigation
Follow the white arrow in the blue navigation strip above to gain access to various sections of New Zealand Antique Prints & Rare Books. As you hover over any given rectangle you will see the name of a section in the large middle rectangle. Click and you will go to the section named.
At the completion of the upgrade this navigation strip will appear on all pages.
General information
Hover over the images in most sections for a short description of that image. In many cases the image will link to a relevant page, too.
Entire Mollusca & Fish & Shells section (ALL files), including ephemera archive. — [May 2012]
Supported Browsers
Mozilla Firefox 2 & 3
Internet Explorer 8, sometimes 7.
Safari 5.1.2
Chrome
Opera
Safari does not work well in the book section: If you hover over a thumbnail it will move. You must press and hold the left mouse button to cause the larger image to show. Even then an overlay will partially obscure the image (exasperating!).
In Mozilla and Firefox you need only click the thumbnail for the larger image to show.
